Artists need to make the connection between who is in public office, and whether there is public funding for the arts.

Artists need to make the connection between who is in public office, and whether there is public funding for the arts.

Take sides.

Choose those candidates who support arts funding!

This election year is critical for the ARTS, education, fairness to all peoples, and the economy.

We need to get like minded people into public office with these priorities. People who are forward thinkers.

For instance, almost every politician on the right is trying to stop anything that President Obama wants. Period.

We need to get Obama team members in place, in the Senate, the House of Representatives, and as Governors.

Not John McCain, but Rodney Glassman for U.S. Senate, www.rodneyglassman.com

Raúl M Grijalva for Congress, www.grijalvaforcongress.com

Gabrielle Giffords for Congress, www.giffordsforcongress.com

Not Jan Brewer, but Terry Goddard for Governor, www.terrygoddard.com

Chris Deschene for Secretary of State, www.descheneforarizona.com

Felicia Rotellini for Attorney General, www.feleciaforarizona.com

Andre Chernei for State Treasurer, www.andreiforarizona.com

Penny Kotterman for Superintendent of Public Instruction, www.pennykotterman.com

Manuel Cruz for State Mine Inspector

Macario Saldate and Sally Ann Gonzales for State Representative District 27(the democrats in whatever district you are in)

Margaret DiFrank, Clerk of the Superior Court

David Bradley and the fill in Democrat who is replacing Jorge Luis Garcia, for Corporation Commissioner

Adelita Grijalva and Miguel Ortega for TUSD Governing Board

Eva Carrillo Dong for Sunnyside School Board

I'm voting YES on Propositions 110, 203 and 400.

I'm voting NO on Prop 106, which is another attempt to undermine Obama's hard work on healthcare reform.

I'm voting NO on Prop 107, the Anti-Equal Opportunity initiative.

I'm voting NO on Prop 109, an Arizona legislative power grab on wildlife management.

I'm voting YES on Prop 110, which provides a way to exchange state trust land, for federal lands with accountability and transparency.

I'm voting NO on Prop 111, which would change the Arizona Secretary of State office to "Lieutenant Governor".

I'm voting NO on Prop 112, which limits the ability of citizens to file initiatives for the ballot.

I'm voting NO on Prop 113, which is another Republican attack on unions and working families.

I'm voting YES on Prop 203, which is a citizen’s initiative supporting medical marijuana.

I'm voting NO on Prop 301, these funds were used to protect Tumamoc Hill, and could be used for more critical habitat.

I'm voting NO on Prop 302, which terminates the "First Things First Early Childhood Education" programs approved by voters in 2006, using tobacco funds.

I'm voting YES on Prop 400, a temporary 5-year ½ cent sales tax to fund police, fire, parks and recreation and transportation in Tucson.

I'm voting YES on Prop 401. City Council members do so much public service, yet they get paid very little for their service.
